Each week club members complete & present a self-directed research project.
We teach club members to use different research methods in the local library and coach them to find sources and take notes on their chosen topics before they create digital media presentations to be shared during each Friday's Research Fair*.

June 22rd - June 26th: Art & Design (8:30am - 12:30pm) 🎨 🧑🎨
Big Brain members will explore the history, style, and significance of an artist or art medium. In addition to their research presentations, Big Brains will also create and design original pieces that are inspired by the artist or medium of their choice.
June 22rd - June 26th: World & Travel (1:00pm - 5:00pm) 🌎 🧳
Big Brain members will explore the geography, history, culture, and people of a region, country, or city. In addition to their research presentations, Big Brains will also create travel brochures, advertisements, or itineraries for their destination.
June 29th - July 3rd*: Sports & Fiction (1:00pm - 5:00pm) ⚽️ 📝
Big Brain members will explore the history, impact, and numbers/data of a sport or athlete. In addition to their research presentations, Big Brains will also create fictional pieces based on the sport or athlete of their choice.
*No Big Brains meeting on Wednesday, July 1st. (we got World Cup tickets!)
July 6th - July 10th: Music & Performance* (8:30am - 3:00pm**) 🎼 🪈
Big Brain members will explore the history, origin, and impact of a music genre or artist. In addition to their research presentations, Big Brains will also learn to play the recorder and perform at the end of the week.
*Recorder included in club membership.
**Friday, July 10th, Big Brains will run from 8:30am - 5:00pm to prepare for the final performance.

When?
2026 Summer Big Brains Club runs Monday to Friday from June 22rd to July 10th, except on July 1st.
You can choose the theme/week that best fits your summer schedule.
Where?
8:30am - 3:00pm at Broadview Thomson School Pk-8
3:00pm - 5:00pm at Broadview Branch Library
(Yes, we will travel between the 2 locations.)

Nonrefundable deposit of $100 per theme per child must be made to secure the membership.
